Care and Maintenance
LAPEPIA products are designed to last and grow with your child.
To preserve the integrity of the organic fibres and natural materials, we recommend a gentle wash before first use and following the few simple care instructions below.
MUSLIN PRODUCTS AND FABRIC ACCESSORIES
Our muslins and certified fabric accessories become softer and more structured with every wash.
- Washing: Hand wash or machine wash at a maximum of 30°C on a delicate cycle with mild soap.
- Drying: Air dry, preferably flat and away from direct sunlight. Do not tumble dry. No ironing required.
- Care: Avoid using fabric softeners and bleach to preserve the natural absorbency and purity of the yarn.
CARE ACCESSORIES
Ritual tools made with natural and certified materials.
Designed to respect the baby's physiology.
The Hair Brush
- Maintenance: Regularly remove residual hair with the help of a comb. Wash the natural bristles only when necessary (1-2 times a year) by briefly immersing them in warm water and mild soap, taking care not to wet the wooden support.
- Drying: Leave to dry upside down, away from direct heat sources.
The Natural Sponge
- Maintenance: Rinse carefully under running water after each use to remove detergent residue. Squeeze gently without twisting the fiber and leave to dry hanging in a ventilated area. Do not boil and do not machine wash.
The Nail Brush
- Maintenance: After use, rinse the bristles under warm water using a drop of mild soap.
- Storage: Leave to dry in a vertical or horizontal position in a dry environment, to preserve the integrity and naturalness of the wooden handle.
PACIFIER CLIP
Made from natural wood, food-grade silicone and muslin, compliant with EN 71-3:2019 and DIN EN 12586:2011 standards.
- Safety features: Maximum length 220 mm, excluding the clip. The clip features 3 anti-choking ventilation holes. Safe, non-toxic and certified materials.
- Cleaning: Wash with water and mild soap or wipe with a damp cloth, then pat dry with a dry cloth and leave to air dry. Do not soak, to preserve the integrity of the wood.
- Sterilisation: Only with a sanitising solution. Do not use steam sterilisers, dishwashers or microwaves.
- Correct use: Do not stretch the chain. Do not attach it to cords, ribbons or wide parts of clothing — only to the child's clothes. Do not use during sleep, nor in the bed, cot or playpen. Do not leave the child unattended while wearing it.
- Inspection and replacement: Inspect before each use and replace at the first sign of wear or damage. It is recommended to replace the chain every 3-4 months. Not a toy.
Bunny Teething Ring
A cherished item that combines the softness of fabric with the sturdiness of natural wood.
- Maintenance: Untie the knot to separate the two components before washing.
- The fabric ears: Machine washable at 30°C on a delicate cycle with mild soap. Avoid fabric softeners and bleach. Air dry.
- The wooden ring: Clean exclusively with a damp cloth and mild soap, without soaking. Pat dry and allow to air dry completely. Do not immerse in water, place in the dishwasher, steam sterilizers, or microwave.
- Safety: Wash before first use. Check the integrity of the item before each use and do not make any modifications to the product — replace it at the first sign of wear or damage. Supervision during use is recommended, as a best practice for any infant accessory.
HEADBANDS AND HAIR BOWS
Fabric details in cotton and jersey, designed to last over time.
- Washing: Hand wash only in lukewarm water with a mild detergent. Do not rub or wring the fabric. Avoid fabric softeners and bleach.
- Drying: Air dry away from direct heat sources and sunlight. Do not tumble dry.
- Safety: During the baby's first 12 months, the skull is still developing, and the fontanelles remain open for several months. For this reason, headbands and bows should only be worn for short periods, never during sleep or in the car, and always under supervision.
